No one needs to be told to know that the economy is not doing so hot these days. Everywhere in the world, people are losing jobs. As of July 2009, the unemployment rate for the United States hit a high 9.7%. That is a huge increase compared to a 4.8% unemployment rate in April of 2008.

At times like these, it’s important to be able to find new ways of saving money. One amazing way of saving money is through solar energy!

Watch this clip to learn more about how Solar Panels work:

The Earth4Energy guidebook will walk you through step-by-step on how to build and use solar panels to help power your home. Installing solar panels for your home can cost an average of $27,000 dollars.
I was thinking about it the other day, and it seems that many people associate certain stereotypes with ‘green’ minded people. People think that they are all crazy folks living up in the hills or something.

I believe that stereotype at one time. I thought anyone who used solar power and had a wind turbine must be a tree hugging environmentalist. But I have learned that green energy is not so much about being an environmentalist, its about saving money!, at least that is what it means for me.

So I want to make it clear now, i am all about renewable energy and home solar systems because they actually save me money.

so whats your reason for looking into alternative energy sources? Are you concerned about the environment? Or are you simply looking to save money? Post your thoughts and comments below!
