Going Green: My Motives

Posted on 03 August 2009

I realized that although I think that protecting the environment is good, I am not all that willing to go to great lengths to actually protect it. I will make some small sacrifices or change certain things about the way I live, but as a whole, I am just not willing to go live in a grass hut just to save the environment.

However, I am into saving money. I know that when I learn of a new way to save money, I jump on it. I always look for the lowest prices when shopping for food and I make certain sacrifices at times to save a little money.

Now when I started learning about green renewable energy, I was a little skeptical. I thought, ‘oh here is another way to spend tons of money just to make you feel good about the environment.’ But then I actually looked into it and found out that not only can you help save the environment, you can also save money on your utilities bill each month! Well, that got my attention. Not only can I now help keep the earth a bit greener, I can keep more green in my pocket!

I know there are some out there that are zealous enough to go to great lengths to keep the environment green and clean, and more power to you, but for many of us, it does come down to how much it will cost us. And as I learned, going green can actually help you save money.

So whether you want to save the environment or just save some money, going green is a no-brainer these days.

God Bless!
